Week 6

The sonagram reconfirms Darjeeling's litter and at least four should be expected.  The image above details each puppy.  Each black circle represents the amniotic sac and the white arrow points to the puppy in the sac.  At this time, the puppies are about an inch long.

Sonagrams (ultrasounds) are done for multiple reasons but mainly for planning purposes.  Other reasons include detection of false pregnancies, abnormalities and giving you ample time to place the puppies to good homes. Since they are a low risk method of monitoring pregnancies, sonagrams are an extremely helpful tool.
